APWA Coachella Valley 2019 Public Works Expo

The American Public Works Association (APWA) Southern
California Chapter’s Coachella Valley Branch recently hosted its 2019
Public Works Expo
for public and private leaders in the AEC industry to
network, engage in an educational session, and showcase their services and solutions—and Epic was there!  The expo included an Educational Program that provided an update and lessons learned from major public works projects in the Riverside County area.  Epic’s Client Services Manager, Kathy Tegeler, organized leaders in the public sector to participate as panelists in the Educational Program, namely:  Sheldon Peterson, Rail Program Manager at Riverside County Transportation Commission, and John Marcinek, P.E., Transportation Project Manager at the County of Riverside Transportation Department.  Sheldon Peterson presented, “Update on Coachella Valley – San Gorgonio Pass Rail Corridor Service Study.”  John Marcinek then discussed, “Lessons Learned from the Clinton Keith Road Extension Project.”  Their presentations were followed by the University of California’s Pavement Research Center Assistant Director, Shadi Saadeh, Ph.D., P.E., who spoke on the research center’s “City and County Pavement Improvement Center (CCPIC)” program.

The expo took place at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage on November 14, 2019.  Partial proceeds from the event were dedicated to a local student scholarship fund to support high school students in the Coachella Valley pursue college education in AEC fields.

Epic is looking forward to attending the 2020 expo!
