Title: Epic Providing Relocation for Evergreen Apartments
Working with Abode Communities, the City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Housing Development Company to provide relocation for Evergreen Apts!
Amidst a tough economy and an even tougher Redevelopment sector, Epic is proud to be part of the renovation work being done in Long Beach at The Evergreen Apartments, an 81-unit residential property owned and managed by Abode Communities, a non-profit company seeking to redevelop its housing projects while keeping them affordable. Overall, Abode Communities owns 34 properties throughout the region and provides a home to more than 4,000 residents.
On the sunny afternoon of February 28th, 2011, Epic Relocation Agent Kathy Cabanilla was one of approximately 70 people in attendance, along with a representative of State Sen. Rod Wright (D-Inglewood) and Robin Hughes, president and CEO of Abode Communities. Ms. Cabanilla took the opportunity to visit with project staff and some of the displacees with whom she is working. The event sought to celebrate the project’s successful launching, involving renovations and temporary relocations that are being done on a rolling basis.
With extensive Relocation, Epic enters this project fully aware of the particularly delicate demands of such projects. Making up part of a broader effort to renovate 81 apartments, the current Evergreen Apartments Project will cost $25.8 million. As Abode will continue to offer after-school, educational, social and referral services to residents, Epic is honored to provide relocation services to some of the impacted residents, many of whom are often low-income families, seniors and individuals with special needs.
