ADELANTO, CA – In addition to acquisition services, Epic is providing management and review of all work involved in the protection, removal and/or relocation of utility facilities necessary to clear and certify right of way for the SBCTA/Caltrans project. Epic is identifying all utilities in the project area and obtain as-built plans from identified utility owners. Epic provided the project with nearly 400 positive location verifications (potholes).
BEAUMONT, CA – Epic assisted the city of Beaumont in obtaining Caltrans certification for this project within 120 days, meeting a deadline to preserve several million dollars of federal funding. Epic reviewed acquisition files for to determine if all requirements for certification were followed, and worked with stakeholders to obtain necessary documentation. Epic also performed utility relocation coordination to obtain approval for utility relocation plans for Southern California Edison, also required for Caltrans certification.
PERRIS, CA – The Epic team started utility investigation early in this RCTC project in order to minimize conflicts through better and smarter design, which also gave the utility companies more time to plan and prepare for possible adjustments to their lines. Types of utilities investigated included cable, electric, gas, oil, telephone, Wi-Fi, sewer, storm drain and water. In all, the project team identified 125 conflicts. Relocations were required for 54 utilities. Epic oversaw all utility notices and negotiated 12 utility agreements in conformity with FTA requirements.
