Epic’s Regional Manager, Kim Bibolet, partnered with San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and the Alliance for Education to provide a STEM curriculum development workshop for local school instructors. December 7, 2019, Kim, design-builders, and representatives from SBCTA meet with a team of educators at the active project site of the Mount Vernon Avenue Viaduct replacement project over the BNSF Railway Intermodal Yard in San Bernardino. The STEM workshop examined the design, demolition process, and construction of the viaduct replacement that will enhance the structural safety of the bridge and modernize to current seismic, design, and roadway standards, as well as comply with ADA pedestrian facilities. The purpose of this in-field workshop was to enable local teachers to develop STEM curriculum that pairs with a real public works project in student’s backyards.
