Hats off to Portland Right of Way Agent, Rey Chavolla, for surviving the HOOD TO COAST overnight long-distance relay that began at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood and finished in Seaside, OR. Rey was part of a team of 12 that split the 200-mile relay into 36 segments, where each runner averages 14-20 miles to complete the race. Modest Rey doesn’t consider himself much of a runner, but from our desks, Rey is the next Usain Bolt! In its 37th year of competitions, HOOD TO COAST has raised millions for the American Cancer Society and Providence Cancer Institute research and patient advocacy programs. Rey Chavolla is a Right of Way Agent based at Epic’s Oregon Regional Office in Tigard.
